The bus

The vehicle and our environment in which we will transport ourselves the coming year will be a Volkswagen T3 Syncro Turbo Diesel with a double cabin from 1989. This version is has standard, besides 4wd, a heavy road chassis (bottom cover, and adjusted suspension). Next to larger wheels we made the following adjustments for our trip:

- Larger Dynamo - Another 12V circuit - 220V - Water tank and water treatment - Roof tent (Howling Moon) - Car alarm - Rev counter - Rotating front seats

The car, since July 2007 ours, was used in the Dutch army from 1989 till 1994. The restoration project has grown from some painting into a total revision. We replaced the distribution chain, V-belt, fuel pipes, air filter, fuel filter etc. The bus is also repainted in the color; Lybian Matt Sand. This color we “borrowed” from a special edition of the Landrover Defender. The dashboard is suited for our trip with among other things a room for a map and Alpine CDE-9881R.
